Pedigree
Plum Pretty is a daughter of multiple Grade 1 king and back-to-back Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) runner-up Medaglia d’Oro
In addition to the Classic, Medaglia d’Oro also ran second in the Belmont S. (G1) and Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1)
The stallion ranked fourth in 2008 on the Leading First-Crop Sires list, but shot to number 1 on the 2009 Leading Second-Crop Sires list
From his first crop Medaglia d’Oro sired 2009 Kentucky Oaks (G1) queen Rachel Alexandra, who would be honored as that year’s Horse of the Year following an historic unbeaten campaign that included the Woodward S. (G1), Preakness S. (G1) and Haskell Invitational (G1)
That same year, a son of Medaglia d’Oro named Passion for Gold was the highweight two-year-old colt in France
Other noted progeny out of the sire include Grade 1 winners Champagne d’Oro, Warrior’s Reward and Gabby’s Golden Gal
Plum Pretty was produced by Liszy (A.P. Indy)
That mare is herself a daughter of Grade 2 victress Silent Account (Private Account)
Plum Pretty’s third dam is Grade 2-placed stakes winner Ciao (Silent Screen)
Ciao would go on in the breeding shed to foal Grade 1 scorer Secret Hello (Private Account), Group 3-winning sire Hadif (Clever Trick) and the dam of 2008 Blue Grass S. (G1) star Monba (Maria’s Mon)
Plum Pretty’s broodmare sire is classic-winning Horse of the Year A.P. Indy
Other daughters of A.P. Indy have produced the likes of champion Wait a While (Maria’s Mon); last year’s Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Super Saver (Maria’s Mon); and Grade 1 scorers Bluegrass Cat (Storm Cat), Mr. Sidney (Storm Cat) and Any Given Saturday (Distorted Humor)
A.P. Indy’s top-rated offspring include Horse of the Year Mineshaft; champions Bernardini and Rags to Riches; and Grade 1 veterans Aptitude, Music Note, Tomisue’s Delight and Secret Status
