Mazarine turning into Natalma rematch

Saturday's C$150,000 Mazarine (Can-G3) at Woodbine is turning into a Natalma (Can-G2) rematch as five of the eight runners are exiting that one-mile turf contest.

Llanarmon (Sky Mesa) rallied for victory in the Natalma, and for the first time in her two-race career will be stretching out to 1 1/16 miles while trying the Polytrack in the Mazarine. Trainer Roger Attfield will give Emma-Jayne Wilson a leg up on the dark bay juvenile miss.

Spanish Flower (Artie Schiller), Appreciating (Sky Mesa) and Madly Truly were only separated by a neck and a head in a blanket finish three-quarters of a length behind Llanarmon in the Natalma. Unspurned (Lemon Drop Kid) is the other Natalma runner entered in the Mazarine, finishing sixth three lengths behind the winner.

Two of the other three runners in the Mazarine are exiting maiden wins while Tamazula (Two Step Salsa) was last seen finishing fourth in the Arlington-Washington Lassie.

Whoever comes out on top Saturday will earn 10 points into the Kentucky Oaks (G1) starting gate as the Mazarine is part of the Road to the Kentucky Oaks series.
