Kentucky Derby contenders Awesome Act and Conveyance turned in their final major preparations on Tuesday morning, breezing over the muddy track at Churchill Downs.
Awesome Act, who started his move a couple of lengths back of stakes-winning stablemate Peace Town, breezed a half-mile in :48 1/5. Jockey Julien Leparoux was up on the Jeremy Noseda-trained chestnut colt, who was urged a little to get past his workmate in the stretch. Awesome Act recorded splits in :13 and :24 4/5, and galloped out five furlongs in 1:00 4/5 and three-quarters in 1:15 2/5.
Conveyance drilled five furlongs in :59 4/5 for Bob Baffert. Clockers caught the gray colt in splits of :13, :25 1/5 and :48, with a six-furlong gallop out in 1:13 1/5.
The track was “off” for the fifth consecutive morning at Churchill Downs.
