Boasting a name resonant of the home of the Kentucky Derby (G1), TWINSPIRED (Harlan's Holiday) took a step in the right direction with a victory in Saturday night's $50,000 WEBN S. at Turfway Park. The Mike Maker trainee was returning to Polytrack for the first time since his rallying debut maiden score at Keeneland, and the 3-2 favorite promptly stayed perfect on the synthetic surface.

TwinspiredHeld up about four lengths off the pace through splits of :23 3/5 and :47 3/5, Twinspired moved in tandem with Taptowne (Tapit) nearing the final turn. The duo passed six furlongs in 1:13 2/5 in lockstep and left the rest of the field behind.

Taptowne put a head in front, but Twinspired roared back beneath Jozbin Santana and ran out a decisive winner. The gray colt was 4 1/4 lengths in command at the wire while negotiating one mile in 1:41 2/5. R Fast Cat (Bluegrass Cat) caught Taptowne by a head for second.

Campaigned by Alpha Stables, Skychai Racing and Sand Dollar Stable, Twinspired has compiled a 5-2-0-0 record to go along with $62,530 in earnings. Since his debut, he finished fourth in a deep turf allowance at Churchill Downs, eighth in the Springboard Mile at Remington in his only start on dirt, and was promoted to fifth in the grassy Dania Beach S. at Gulfstream Park last time out.
