TRAVEL & PARKING

For any Derby Week days, excluding Dawn at the Downs days and the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks days, parking may be purchased by going to Ticketmaster. Additional 2025 parking information with day and lot specific information can be found below.

Derby Week parking passes can be accessed digitally through Ticketmaster or the Churchill Downs app with the exception of Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby. Parking Passes for the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby will be mailed. All parking passes will be validated prior to entry into the lot. When you approach your place of entry, please have your mobile or printed parking pass ready for our staff to scan. Churchill Downs will not be selling any additional parking onsite after this date as parking and shuttles will be available at the Kentucky Exposition Center following the parameters below by day.

Wheelchairs
Churchill Downs does not offer wheelchair transfer service. Guests who anticipate they will require wheelchair assistance are encouraged to bring their own wheelchair with them to the racetrack. To purchase accessible seating in advance, call 502-636-4450. Accessible Seating Directions to First Floor Accessible Seating (Available with General Admission on a first-come-first-served basis)

From the ground level, Rows B and D in sections 115-117 are wheelchair accessible. Enter through the ramps at sections 114-115 or 116-117.

From the ground level, Row O in section 126 is wheelchair accessible. Enter through the ramps between sections 125-126 or 126-127. The ramp behind section 126 leads to the accessible seating area in row O.

From the ground level, Rows U and V in section 128 are wheelchair accessible. Enter section 128 through the ramp between sections 127-128. The ramp behind section 128 leads to the accessible seating area.

Directions to Second Floor Accessible Seating (Available with General Admission on a first-come-first-served basis)

From the ground level, utilize the wheelchair accessible elevator (located near the Skye Terrace Elevator Lobby) to the second floor. Exit the elevator, turn left, and proceed through the double doors. The following boxes are designated accessible: Section 115: K02-K08, K15, K17, L02-L04; Section 116: K03, K09. From these seat locations, there is a wheelchair accessible ramp that connects these seats in sections 115 and 116 to the clubhouse and the food court.

Directions to Third Floor Accessible Seating (Reserved Seating-ticket required)

Section 315: C02-C14, C16-C18, H03-H05; Section 316: C01-C13, C15-C20; and Section 317: C01-C10, C12-23 are accessible and if available, may be purchased from the box office or by calling (502) 636-4400. From the ground level, use the Skye Terrace Elevator to the 3rd Floor or utilize the lift located in Section 220/320 for the 3rd floor boxes.

Grandstand Section 126 and 128 Paddock Gate Proceed towards the Grandstands to the left of the Main Paddock then head to section 126 and 128
First Turn Terrace and View Level Clubhouse Gate Upon entering, proceed to the First Turn Building. Take the leftmost door to access the elevator, which will take you to the second or third floor.
 First Floor Boxes Clubhouse Gate Proceed to the section on your ticket.
Turf Suites *Derby Week ONLY Yellow Lot Tent Upon arrival proceed to the Yellow Lot to get on the shuttle to the Turf Suites.
Turf Bleachers *Derby Week ONLY Paddock Gate Proceed towards the Grandstands at section 124 and when arriving at the Tunnel take the Mobility Golf Cart Shuttle to the bleachers.

DERBY WEEK PARKING INFORMATION

All onsite parking at Churchill Downs is reserved in advance and available for pre-purchase as long as inventory is available. Parking within each reserved lot is first-come, first-served including ADA spaces. If you do not have pre-purchased parking, you will not be able to purchase it onsite. Please pay careful attention to your specific lot’s instructions for parking and be sure you understand the directions as entry for each lot is unique. For any Derby Week days, excluding Dawn at the Downs days and the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks days, parking may be purchased by going to Ticketmaster. Please note that if onsite parking is no longer available for a particular day, it will not be listed. Onsite parking is extremely limited which is why parking at the Kentucky Exposition Center is included with your ticket to each individual Derby weekday.

Entry to your specific lot is unique and directions to your lot should be followed closely. Please review the specific lot maps above for more information.

All mobile and printed parking passes will be validated prior to entry into the lot. When you approach your place of entry, please have your parking pass ready for our staff to scan. There is no re-entry into the parking lots.

There will be ADA-accessible shuttles available throughout the lots.  Please note: We are not able to provide wheelchair assistance once a guest is dropped off at Churchill Downs. 

The following days are sold out of Onsite Parking: 502'sDay, Winsday, Thurby, Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby

Kentucky Exposition Center we will have free parking with free shuttles going to and from Churchill Downs on Opening Night, 502’sDay, Winsday, and Thurby. Please enter through either Gates 1 or 2. On the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby days, if you do not already have onsite parking, but have reserved seating with frontside access, there is parking at the Kentucky Exposition Center which is included with your ticket. Please present your ticket upon entry. This includes FREE shuttle service to and from Churchill Downs with drop-off and pick-up in the Black Lot outside of the Paddock Gate.

All onsite parking at Churchill Downs must be reserved in advance starting early April and is available for pre-purchase on Ticketmaster through April 15, while supplies last. Parking is first-come, first-served within each lot, including ADA spaces. No onsite purchases available without a reservation.

  • Lots open at 3:00 pm on Saturday.
  • Follow specific directions to your lot. Refer to lot maps for guidance.
  • Parking passes will be scanned at entry. Have your mobile pass ready. No re-entry allowed.

Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC) Parking

  • If you don’t have onsite parking, use KEC parking included with your ticket. Show your ticket at entry.
  • Free shuttle service to and from Churchill Downs is included, with drop-off and pickup at the Black Lot by the Paddock Gate.
  • Enter through Gates 1 and 2.
  • Shuttles start at 3:00 pm Saturday. ADA-accessible shuttles available, but no wheelchair assistance at Churchill Downs.

Rideshare & Pickup

  • No offsite taxi or rideshare access. All pickups and drop-offs happen onsite at Kentucky Derby Drive between Queen and Thornberry.
  • Check the rideshare maps for detailed directions.
  • No parking available at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium on this day.

Onsite parking is FREE on a first-come, first-served basis in the Yellow Lot for Dawn at the Downs from Thursday, April 24th through Wednesday, April 30th. Guests must enter at Kentucky Derby Drive and Longfield Avenue for parking.

  • Parking lots will open at 5:45 am each morning.
  • Vehicles must leave Churchill Downs by 10:30 am each day.

All onsite parking must be reserved in advance starting early April and is available for pre-purchase on Ticketmaster through April 15, while supplies last. Parking is first-come, first-served within each reserved lot, including ADA spaces. No onsite sales if you don’t have a reservation.

  • Lots open at 10:30 am on Tuesday.
  • Follow directions to your assigned lot. Refer to lot maps for details.
  • Parking passes must be scanned at entry. Have your mobile pass ready. No re-entry allowed.

Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC)

  • Parking at KEC is included with your ticket if you didn’t reserve onsite parking. Show your ticket upon entry.
  • Free shuttle service runs to and from Churchill Downs, with drop-off and pickup at the Black Lot by the Paddock Gate.
  • Enter through Gates 1 or 2.
  • Shuttles start at 10:30 am Tuesday. ADA-accessible shuttles are available, but no wheelchair assistance is provided at Churchill Downs.

Rideshare & Pickup

  • No offsite taxi or rideshare service. All pickups and drop-offs happen onsite at Kentucky Derby Drive between Queen and Thornberry.
  • Refer to the rideshare maps above for directions.
  • No parking at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium on this day.

Onsite Parking

  • Onsite parking is sold out.
  • Lots open at 10:30 am on Wednesday for those with passes.
  • Follow directions to your specific lot. Refer to lot maps above.
  • Have your mobile parking pass ready for scanning at entry. No re-entry allowed.

Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC)

  • If you don’t have onsite parking, use KEC parking included with your ticket. Show your ticket at entry.
  • Free shuttle service to and from Churchill Downs, with drop-off and pickup in the Black Lot at the Paddock Gate.
  • Enter through Gates 1 or 2.
  • Shuttles begin at 10:30 am on Wednesday. ADA-accessible shuttles are available, but no wheelchair assistance at Churchill Downs.

Rideshare & Pickup

  • No offsite taxi or rideshare service. All pickups and drop-offs occur onsite at Kentucky Derby Drive between Queen and Thornberry.

  • Free shuttle service to/from Churchill Downs, with drop-off and pickup in the Black Lot by the Paddock Gate.
  • Shuttles begin at 9:30 am Thursday. ADA-accessible shuttles available, but no wheelchair assistance at Churchill Downs.

Rideshare & Pickup

  • No onsite rideshare or taxi service. Use the Bronze Lot at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. No mobility assistance is provided. Guests should shuttle to KEC for pickup or drop-off.
  • Buses and cars can pre-purchase a Derby Drive drop-off pass (Warren Ave between Queen & Thornberry). No pickups. Pass is surrendered at drop-off.
  • Paid parking is available at L&N Stadium starting Thursday. Walk to Churchill Downs. Pay on-site: $40 (car), $150 (RV), $200 (bus). No pre-sales.

Onsite Parking

  • Onsite parking is sold out.
  • Lots open at 8:00 am on Oaks and Derby days for those with passes.
  • Some tickets include parking (e.g., The Mansion, Spires Terrace, Woodford Reserve Paddock Club, Suites, Matt Winn’s, select dining rooms).
  • Passes are vehicle-specific (car, limo, mini-bus, motor coach). Incorrect vehicle types will be turned away.
  • Follow directions to your assigned lot for entry.
  • No shuttling allowed within lots. No re-entry if you leave.

Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC)

  • Central Avenue will be CLOSED May 1–3. Visit kentuckyderbyparking.com for route info.
  • Enter through Gates 1 or 2.
  • Shuttles start at 7:30 am on Oaks and Derby days. ADA parking and shuttles are available, but no wheelchair assistance at Churchill Downs.
  • Buses and cars may pre-purchase a Derby Drive drop-off pass (Warren Ave between Queen & Thornberry). No pick-up. Passes are collected at drop-off.
  • Only frontside tickets allow KEC parking and shuttle access. Infield tickets are not accepted and cannot use the shuttle. No drop-off at the Infield Gate.

Rideshare & Pickup

  • No onsite rideshare or taxi access. Use the Bronze Lot at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. No mobility assistance is available. Use a shuttle to KEC for pickup or drop-off.
  • Paid parking at L&N Stadium starts on Thurby. Walk to Churchill Downs. Pay on-site (cash or card): $40 (car/truck), $150 (RV), $200 (bus). No advance sales.

Onsite Parking

  • Onsite parking is sold out.
  • For those with passes, lots open at 8:00 am on Oaks and Derby days.

  • KEC shuttles are for frontside ticket holders only. No Infield ticket entry or drop-off.
  • Frontside tickets include free shuttle access between KEC and Churchill Downs.

Rideshare & Pickup

  • No onsite taxi or rideshare drop-off/pick-up. Use the Bronze Lot at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. No mobility assistance to/from Churchill Downs. Guests must shuttle to KEC for access.
  • Paid parking at L&N Stadium begins on Thurby. Walk to Churchill Downs. Pay on-site (cash or card): $40 (car), $150 (RV), $200 (bus).
