Caribbean Life

The Iroquois was Carribean Life’s second career start where he made up ground from the back of the pack. The 2-1 second choice broke from the rail and was last early, the only runner behind the slow-starting Salahudin. He closed to finish third, 2 3/4 lengths behind runner-up He is No Lie. He had won his only previous start and earned $59,512. The Iroquois went in 1:36.54 on a fast track, with seven starters after two scratches. He's a homebred for CHC Inc., the China Horse Club, trained by Will Walden and ridden in the Iroquois by Flavien Prat. His sire is Life Is Good, whose speed carried him to multiple Grade 1 wins around two turns. His dam is the unraced Caribbean Babe. The Iroquois showed a colt still learning his job early who had a willing finishing kick. A cleaner start and more ground should suit him.
