Klaravich Stables already has two Preakness victories, via Cloud Computing and Early Voting, to its name. This year it hopes to add the Kentucky Derby via the Chad Brown-trained Domestic Product.

A Klaravich homebred, Domestic Product is by one of Klaravich’s premier racehorses, Practical Joke. A three-time Grade 1 winner, Practical Joke has sired nine Grade 1 winners to date, including last year’s Santa Anita Derby victor Practical Move and the Frizette winner Chocolate Gelato.

Domestic Product’s dam Goods and Services, an unraced daughter of Paynter, is a daughter of the stakes-winning Cherokee Run filly Indian Legend, and a half-sister to another stakes-winner, Kenda.

Though he does have Grade 1 winners at up to 1 1/4 miles in Chile, Practical Joke’s American progeny have generally been best at up to 1 1/8 miles, and the sprinting background of his dam’s pedigree raises doubts about his Kentucky Derby stamina.
