Iron Honor has won two of three races. He has earned $229,250 with a perfect 2-for-3 record. His first victory came on Dec. 13, 2025, at Aqueduct in a maiden race at 6 furlongs on fast dirt, winning by 1 1/2 lengths at 6-1 odds.

Most impressively, Iron Honor won at Aqueduct on Feb. 28, 2026, in a stakes race at 1 mile on a good (muddy) track at 4-5 odds, winning by 1 length. On April 4, 2026, he finished a disappointing seventh as the race favorite in the Wood Memorial. Despite his recent setback his victory two races ago shows he can potentially win at the Derby distance and can handle different track conditions. Jockey Manuel Franco rode him in both races, showing consistency.

What Matters: Why Root for Iron Honor

Iron Honor deserves your support because he's undefeated with two wins in three starts! He races under Chad C. Brown, one of racing's top trainers. His bloodlines from Nyquist (a Derby winner) and Blame suggest championship potential. His recent stakes victory at 1 mile and his ability to handle muddy conditions show versatility. If you're willing to forgive his last subpar effort from a difficult place in the gate (post postion), he still has an excellent chance heading into the Derby.

Caution: Why He Might Not Win

Iron Honor has only raced three times and is one of the least experienced horse on the Derby trail.
