Two Road to the Kentucky Derby series preps will be contested this weekend, beginning with the $300,000 Remington Springboard Mile on Friday night followed by the $200,000 Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) on Saturday afternoon.

Through the years, many talented horses have won the $200,000 Los Alamitos Futurity (G2), a 1 1/16-mile race contested at Los Alamitos ever since the closing of Hollywood Park.

Uncle Heavy scored a tenacious victory in Saturday’s Withers S. (G3) at Aqueduct, and Nysos romped in the Robert B. Lewis (G3) at Santa Anita.
