Who Is My Miss Mo?

My Miss Mo's record raises genuine questions about whether she can handle today's distance. Her father is best known for producing quick, sharp horses rather than long-distance runners, and her race history supports that concern. Until recently she had never raced around two turns, which longer distances require, and in those efforts she's tended to set the early pace before fading down the stretch. At a mile and an eighth, that kind of late fade becomes a serious problem. Her best hope is that the early pace of the race is fast enough that other horses tire around her, making her look stronger by comparison. Without that scenario, the distance likely exposes her limits. She figures to be prominent early, but a winner at today's trip would be a genuine surprise.

Her Family Tree

My Miss Mo has an impressive pedigree. Her dad is Uncle Mo, a stallion who earned $1.6 million and won Graded stakes races including victories at Belmont Park and Churchill Downs. Uncle Mo was a champion-quality racer. Her mom is In a Dream, who won her only successful race against maiden-level competition. Think of Uncle Mo like having a superstar athlete as a dad—he passes on talent to his offspring.

What Has She Done So Far?

My Miss Mo has only raced five times—she's very new to racing! She won once in a maiden race at Gulfstream Park on Nov. 9, 2025 (7 furlongs), winning by 12 lengths at 1-9 odds. This was impressive! However, she's finished 2nd (second place) three times in stakes races, showing she can compete at higher levels but hasn't broken through yet. She finished 2nd on Feb. 28, 2026 (1 mile race) and again on March 28, 2026 (1-1/16 mile race).

What Matters: Why Root for My Miss Mo

My Miss Mo has proven she can win races at maidens level and compete in stakes races. With elite bloodlines through Uncle Mo and a successful trainer, she has opportunity to improve. Her dominant 12-length maiden victory shows real talent when everything clicks.

Caution: What Could Stop Her

My Miss Mo only has five races—she's highly inexperienced. More importantly, she hasn't won a stakes race yet. Her three second-place finishes suggest she's close but keeps getting beaten by slightly better competition. She hasn't raced on different track conditions or surfaces, so her limitations are unknown.
