Kentucky Oaks alumni take on Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies champion Immersive in the Monomoy Girl Overnight S. for three-year-old fillies at Churchill Downs.

Anna’s Promise (4-1) and Take Charge Milady (7-2) return for the first time since the Kentucky Oaks (G1). Anna’s Promise, runner-up in the Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2), finished fifth in the Oaks and brought trainer Carlos David to the race for the first time. Take Charge Milady showed flashes of brilliance on the Road to the Oaks, winning the Martha Washington S. and placing second in the Ashland S. (G1), but she’s been inconsistent, finishing off the board in both the Honeybee (G3) and the Oaks. She is trained by Kenny McPeek and will be ridden by Brian Hernandez Jr.—the team that swept the 2024 Kentucky Oaks and Derby.

Immersive, the undefeated champion two-year-old filly of 2024, is the 4-5 favorite. She won three Grade 1 races last season, including the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), but was sidelined with bone bruising early this year. She returned to the work tab in May, and the Monomoy Girl marks her first start of 2025. She is trained by Brad Cox, who also sent out Good Cheer to win this year’s Kentucky Oaks. Good Cheer's seven-race win streak was snapped on Belmont Stakes weekend with a fifth-place finish in the Acorn S. (G1), opening up the competition for top three-year-old filly honors.

“We’re looking forward to getting her started again,” trainer Brad Cox said. “She’s doing well since coming back to the string at Churchill and looks just as good as she did as a two-year-old.”

Immersive is a daughter of Nyquist, the 2016 Kentucky Derby winner. Cox is hoping this race will serve as a stepping stone for races like the Coaching Club American Oaks Invitational (G1), Alabama Stakes (G1), and Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1).

The Monomoy Girl is part of a Saturday stakes doubleheader at Churchill, along with the Chorleywood S., a 1 3/8-mile turf test for older horses.
