A dozen of North America’s leading two-year-old fillies will vie for victory in Friday’s $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) at Keeneland.
The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies is an important stop on the 2026-27 Road to the Kentucky Oaks. A total of 63 Kentucky Oaks (G1) qualifying points will be awarded, split 30-15-9-6-3 among the top five finishers.
Let’s take a horse-by-horse look at the 2026 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies field:
Scarlett Begonia
Start(s): 3
Wins: 1
Place: 1
Show: 1
Owner: Hat Creek Racing, Ashview Farm, and Upland Flats Racing
Breeder: Gray Lyster and Gatewood Bell
Trainer: Brad Cox
Jockey: Manny Franco
Top Speed Rating: (91) when finishing second in the Pocahontas (G3) at Churchill Downs.
Total Earnings: $144,868
Sire: Life Is Good
Dam: Asiya
Color: Dark bay/brown
Scarlett Begonia made her Road to the Kentucky Oaks debut with a pacesetting runner-up finish to Manuka Honey in the one-mile Pocahontas. She’ll need a step forward to turn the tables in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
Domain Expansion
Start(s): 2
Wins: 1
Place: 1
Show: 0
Owner: California Racing Partners, Ciaglia Racing, Allen R. Keith, and Kevin O’Donnell
Breeder: Machmer Hall, Carrie Brogden, and Craig Brogden
Trainer: Leonard Powell
Jockey: Adrian Escobedo
Top Speed Rating: (99) when winning the Oak Leaf (G2) at Santa Anita.
Total Earnings: $136,000
Sire: Speaker’s Corner
Dam: Special You
Color: Dark bay/brown
Domain Expansion was tons the best in the 1 1/16-mile Oak Leaf last time out, surging down the homestretch to dominate by seven lengths with a 99 Brisnet Speed rating. A similar performance in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies will make Domain Expansion a major contender.
Foxiest
Start(s): 2
Wins: 1
Place: 0
Show: 1
Owner: LNJ Foxwoods
Breeder: LNJ Foxwoods
Trainer: Brad Cox
Jockey: Junior Alvarado
Top Speed Rating: (84) when winning a maiden special weight at Churchill Downs.
Total Earnings: $82,888
Sire: Gun Runner
Dam: Covfefe
Color: Bay
Foxiest easily won a 7 1/2-furlong maiden special weight at Churchill Downs last month, scoring by 3 3/4 lengths. But the 84 Brisnet Speed rating she earned looks light against the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies field.
Rum Twist
Start(s): 4
Wins: 1
Place: 2
Show: 0
Owner: R. Lee Lewis and Lexi J. Lewis
Breeder: Machmer Hall
Trainer: Mark Hennig
Jockey: John Velazquez
Top Speed Rating: (94) when finishing second in the Frizette (G1) at Belmont Park.
Total Earnings: $193,150
Sire: Mandaloun
Dam: Rumandice
Color: Bay
Rum Twist ran well against tough competition in the one-mile Frizette on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks, finishing second by 2 3/4 lengths. But she lost ground through the final furlong, so stretching out over 1 1/16 miles in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies is at least a small question mark.
Miss Monica
Start(s): 2
Wins: 2
Place: 0
Show: 0
Owner: Michael E. Pegram, Karl Watson, and Paul Weitman
Breeder: Doug Branham and Felicia Branham and Pippa’s Hurricane
Trainer: Bob Baffert
Jockey: Flavien Prat
Top Speed Rating: (102) when winning a maiden special weight at Del Mar.
Total Earnings: $240,000
Sire: Early Voting
Dam: Lipstikliesnlovers
Color: Dark bay/brown
Miss Monica has dominated her first two starts, including the Del Mar Debutante (G1) by 6 1/4 lengths. She’s earned strong Brisnet Speed ratings, but she’s never raced farther than seven furlongs, and the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies will mark her first start in a two-turn race. The longer distance remains an obstacle to overcome.
Revenge of the Sis
Start(s): 2
Wins: 0
Place: 0
Show: 2
Owner: CJ Thoroughbreds and John Ropes
Breeder: John Ropes
Trainer: George Weaver
Jockey: Edgard Zayas
Top Speed Rating: (92) when finishing third in the Frizette at Belmont Park.
Total Earnings: $70,000
Sire: Girvin
Dam: Hardcore Candy
Color: Dark bay/brown
Revenge of the Sis is a late-running filly who has shown talent running third in the Sorority S. and Frizette. But she finished behind Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies rivals Rum Twist and Emphatic in those races, so she’ll need a step forward to reverse those outcomes.
Lexi’s Charm
Start(s): 3
Wins: 2
Place: 0
Show: 0
Owner: Bill and Liz Poston Racing and Brad Smith
Breeder: Nicholas M. Lotz
Trainer: Mark Casse
Jockey: Jose Ortiz
Top Speed Rating: (99) when winning a $50,000 starter allowance at Keeneland.
Total Earnings: $99,584
Sire: Lexitonian
Dam: Stormy Allure
Color: Chestnut
Lexi’s Charm was tons the best in a recent six-furlong $50,000 starter allowance at Keeneland, winning by 12 lengths with a 99 Brisnet Speed rating. But the competition is much deeper in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, and stretching out from six furlongs to 1 1/16 miles could be tricky.
Manuka Honey
Start(s): 3
Wins: 3
Place: 0
Show: 0
Owner: Lisa Lee, Jason Sciortino, William Lynch, Brian Howe, and Terry Hamilton
Breeder: Terry Hamilton
Trainer: Brian Lynch
Jockey: Luis Saez
Top Speed Rating: (93) when winning the Pocahontas at Churchill Downs.
Total Earnings: $383,981
Sire: Upstart
Dam: Drop Dead Red
Color: Dark bay/brown
Manuka Honey brings a perfect 3-for-3 record into the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. Last time out, she won the Pocahontas by two lengths over Scarlett Begonia. But Manuka Honey’s career-best 93 Brisnet Speed rating isn’t as high as the ratings belonging to Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies favorites Emphatic and Miss Monica.
Badittude
Start(s): 3
Wins: 0
Place: 1
Show: 0
Owner: Repole Stable
Breeder: WinStar Farm
Trainer: Todd Pletcher
Jockey: Joel Rosario
Top Speed Rating: (86) when winning a maiden special weight at Belmont Park.
Total Earnings: $31,500
Sire: Uncle Mo
Dam: Donatella
Color: Dark bay/brown
Badittude exits a game runner-up finish in a one-mile maiden special weight at Belmont Park. She was beaten only a neck while pulling 9 1/2 lengths clear of the third-place finisher. But with an 86 Brisnet Speed rating, her career-best, Badittude hasn’t run as fast as the top contenders in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
Emphatic
Start(s): 3
Wins: 3
Place: 0
Show: 0
Owner: Gainesway Stable and Andrew Rosen
Breeder: Jon A. Marshall
Trainer: Brendan Walsh
Jockey: Tyler Gaffalione
Top Speed Rating: (97) when winning the Alcibiades (G1) at Keeneland.
Total Earnings: $404,250
Sire: Nyquist
Dam: Convinced
Color: Bay
Emphatic is the horse to beat in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. She’s undefeated in three starts and led all the way to win the Alcibiades on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks by 1 1/4 lengths, earning a sharp 97 Brisnet Speed rating. The Alcibiades took place over the same track and distance as the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. Emphatic is versatile in terms of running style, so she’ll be tough to conquer if she brings her A game.

Voyager
Start(s): 4
Wins: 2
Place: 2
Show: 0
Owner: D. J. Stable
Breeder: Stoneriggs Farm
Trainer: Mark Casse
Jockey: Javier Castellano
Top Speed Rating: (93) when winning the Natalma (G1) at Woodbine.
Total Earnings: $343,512
Sire: Justify
Dam: Chart
Color: Bay
Voyager is 2-for-2 on turf, most notably rallying to win the Natalma (G1). But she’s also shown talent on dirt (the surface over which the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies is contested), finishing second in the six-furlong Schuylerville S. at Saratoga. Don’t count Voyager out of the mix for a top-three finish in her return to dirt.
Life Changing
Start(s): 3
Wins: 1
Place: 1
Show: 0
Owner: Repole Stable
Breeder: Jamm
Trainer: Todd Pletcher
Jockey: Juan Hernandez
Top Speed Rating: (93) when winning a maiden special weight at Saratoga.
Total Earnings: $97,750
Sire: Life Is Good
Dam: Smart Shopping
Color: Bay
Life Changing has shown flashes of talent and exits a runner-up finish in the one-mile White Clay Creek S. at Delaware Park. But as a frontrunner marooned in the far outside post position, Life Changing could have difficulty making the lead and avoiding ground loss around the first turn of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
