Overview

Bet Paradise with TwinSpires, the official betting partner of the Kentucky Derby

Who is Paradise?

Paradise is a talented three-year-old filly who has quickly become a name to watch for the 2026 Kentucky Oaks (G1). She was born to be a star, evidenced by her $700,000 price tag as a yearling. Her father is Gun Runner, a legendary horse who won the Horse of the Year title and has sired many top-level winners. Her mother, Venetian Harbor, was a fast and powerful sprinter who won multiple graded stakes races. This combination gives Paradise a mix of raw speed and the ability to run long distances.

What Matters

For fans and handicappers, Paradise is a horse to root for because of her consistency. In four career starts, she has never finished worse than third. She showed she could handle the pressure of New York racing by winning the Busher Stakes at Aqueduct in February. Her ability to keep up with a fast pace and still have energy left for the finish line makes her a dangerous competitor.

Caution

While she has a great pedigree, Paradise showed some vulnerability in her most recent start. In the Gazelle Stakes (G3), her Brisnet Speed rating dropped to a 84, which is lower than her peak of 91 in February. This could mean she is getting tired or struggling as the races get longer. To win the Kentucky Oaks, she will need to prove she can regain her top form against the fastest fillies in the country.
