Run at one mile, the Montane Developments Beresford Stakes is a Group 2 turf stakes on the European Road to the Kentucky Derby. Contested at the world famous Curragh Racecourse in County Kildare, Ireland, the top five finishers receive qualifying points toward a spot in the starting gate on the first Saturday in May, with a distribution of 10–5–3–2–1 points to those horses.  The Beresford Stakes is one of the oldest races in the Irish racing calendar, first run in 1875 and has an impressive roll of previous winners including European triple crown winner Nijinsky, Sea The Stars, St Nicholas Abbey, Saxon Warrior and Luxembourg
