Overview

No More Time is being aimed at a historic achievement this year: to become the first horse bred in Iowa to win the Kentucky Derby.

Bred in the Hawkeye State by MAMAS Thoroughbreds, No More Time was a bargain $40,000 purchase at the Keeneland September yearling sale. He is owned by Morplay Racing LLC.

No More Time is by Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) runner-up Not This Time, a son of multiple leading sire Giant’s Causeway and himself the sire of five Grade 1 winners. His dam Baroness Juliette, by Speightstown, is from the family of Grade 1 performer Siphonic, as is fellow 2024 Kentucky Derby prep winner Mystik Dan.

Given that Not This Time has already sired 2022 Derby second-place finisher Epicenter and that Speightstown has shown the ability to get top horses up to 1 1/4 miles, the prospects for No More Time having the requisite stamina for the Kentucky Derby are good.
