Trainer Brad Cox will be looking to Timberlake as one of his prospects to give him his second Kentucky Derby in four years after taking the spoils with Mandaloun in 2021.

Timberlake was bred in Kentucky by St. Elias Stables and bought at the Keeneland September sale from the Gainesway consignment for $350,000. He is raced in partnership by Siena Farm and WinStar Farm, both of whom have tasted success in the Derby before.

Timberlake’s sire Into Mischief has been North America’s leading sire for the past five years. Though known primarily as a speed stallion, he has sired two Kentucky Derby winners, Authentic and Mandaloun.

Dam Pin Up is by the good stamina source Lookin At Lucky and his second dam All My Loving was placed in the 1 1/2-mile Irish Oaks (G1), not surprising for a daughter of Sadler’s Wells. It all augurs well for Timberlake’s prospects of enjoying the Kentucky Derby trip of 1 1/4 miles.
