Pedigree

  • By Indian Charlie, winner of the 1998 Santa Anita Derby (G1)
  • Sire’s top performer is two-time champion filly Indian Blessing, who was best at sprint distances
  • Sire tends to favor speedy runners, but is capable of getting longer-distance performers on occasion
  • Another champion daughter, Fleet Indian, captured two major races at 1 1/4 miles, while Pampered Princess and My Pal Charlie both landed important events at 1 1/8 miles
  • Conveyance’s dam, Emptythetill, is by Horse of the Year Holy Bull
  • Hence both his sire and broodmare sire were beaten favorites in the Kentucky Derby (G1)
  • Indian Charlie finished third in the 1998 Derby, and Holy Bull wound up 12th in the 1994 Derby
  • Holy Bull rebounded by winning six in a row, including the 1 1/4-mile Travers S. (G1)
  • Holy Bull’s top offspring include 2005 Kentucky Derby upsetter Giacomo and champion juvenile Macho Uno
  • Daughters of Holy Bull have produced the likes of talented one-turn specialist Speightstown and the accomplished router Going Ballistic
  • Conveyance descends from the same female line as Monba, the 2008 Blue Grass S. (G1) winner
  • Maternal half of the pedigree may supply the stamina lacking in the sire
