Pedigree
- Discreetly Mine is by 2003 Horse of the Year Mineshaft, who descends in male line from Horses of the Year A.P. Indy and Seattle Slew, the latter the Triple Crown winner of 1977.
- Mineshaft captured four Grade 1 events during his championship campaign including the Suburban H. and Jockey Club Gold Cup, both at 1 1/4 miles.
- Discreetly Mine’s dam, Pretty Discreet, captured the 1995 Alabama S. (G1) over 10 furlongs.
- Discreetly Mine is a half-brother to Cigar Mile (G1) winner Discreet Cat, and Pretty Wild, a multiple stakes winner who placed in the Hopeful S. (G1) and Futurity S. (G1) at age two.
- Pretty Discreet is the second dam of Matron S. (G2) winner Awesome Maria, who is on the Kentucky Oaks (G1) trail this year.
- Discreetly Mine’s second dam, Pretty Persuasive, is by 1978 Kentucky Derby third-placer Believe It, and is a full sister to 1987 Kentucky Oaks heroine Buryyourbelief.
- With a sire and dam successful at the highest level over 10 furlongs, Discreetly Mine should have no inherent problem negotiating the Derby distance.
